Overview: This document serves as proof of consent for messaging collected from consumers through referrals made by their counselors.
The opt-in process ensures that all referred individuals have explicitly agreed to receive communications related to their course enrollment and progress.
Opt-In Process:
- Counselor Referral:
- A certified SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) or referring counselor initiates the referral process by submitting the student’s information through the referral system on ReCourse.life.
- As part of the referral submission, the counselor confirms that they have obtained the student’s consent to receive communications from ReCourse.life regarding their education program.
- Acknowledgment Statement: By sending this form, you confirm that the recipient has given consent to receive messages as outlined in our Consent Policy.
- Consent Acknowledgment:
- Before submitting the referral, the counselor reviews and accepts the acknowledgment that the student has granted permission to receive SMS and/or email notifications.
- Counselors are instructed to inform students that they will receive a single messages from ReCourse.life and that they may opt out at any time.
- The acknowledgment statement confirming consent is also displayed under the send button on the referral form to reinforce compliance.
- Consumer Confirmation:
- Upon receiving the referral, the student is sent a confirmation email with a link to the consent acknowledgment and terms of communication.

The consumer will only receive one text initiated by their counselor. ReCourse.life does not send additional messages.

The consumer also has the option to opt-out as at any time by following the instructions provided in the message.
- The communication is offered as a service to both the consumer and the counselor and DO NOT contain any marketing content.

- Verbal Opt-In Script: Counselors are provided with a standardized script to explain the opt-in process to students and obtain their verbal agreement. If the counselor’s intake process does not include written consent for messaging, the verbal script may serve as an alternative confirmation of this consent.
Sample Script: “As part of your referral to ReCourse.life, we need to confirm that you consent to receive messages regarding your course enrollment and progress. These messages may include reminders, updates, and important information to help you complete your program. You have the right to opt out at any time by following the instructions in the messages. Do you consent to receive these messages via SMS and/or email?”
Compliance & Accessibility: All provided URLs are publicly accessible, ensuring transparency and compliance with messaging consent requirements. Counselors and students can review the opt-in terms anytime through the provided documentation links.
